Leeds United will have Archie Gray decision on their hands if Premier League not secured
Dan Bardell has suggested that Archie Gray could still leave Leeds United this summer if they aren’t promoted to the Premier League.
The Whites are preparing for a Play-Off final against Southampton at Wembley on Sunday (26 May) needing a win to secure promotion.
If Daniel Farke’s side remains in the Championship they may need to raise £100m from player sales to ease financial concerns [Daily Mail].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested both parties could consider a move to work out what is the best option this summer.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “If they don’t go up, he’s been one of their best players in the Championship this season, there’s going to be offers and Leeds are going to have a decision to make.
“Hopefully, they can get up and he’ll be a player that can develop with them in the Premier League. He is a special talent, Leeds loves him and he loves Leeds.
“If they don’t go up then he would have a decision to make about his next move. Is there a smart Premier League move out there at the moment?
“It will be interesting to see what happens to him over the summer but most of it depends on whether they go up or not.“
Should Leeds United keep Archie Gray?
At just 18 years old the versatile midfielder has become an integral part of Farke’s side as a central midfielder and a right back.
A source close to MOT Leeds News has suggested that he may stay at the club regardless of the division but finances could play their part.
The Whites could be in some deep trouble if they don’t secure promotion through the Play-Offs which could change their transfer policy this summer.
This could see them sell various talents such as Crysencio Summerville and Gray with them being able to garner healthy transfer fees.
The Englishman is under contract at Elland Road until 2028 and as a result, would cost a lot should a Premier League side come knocking.

Gray is Leeds through and through, he won’t want to depart the club in any circumstance, especially if they are condemned to second-tier football.
He will be integral for the club moving forward regardless of the division next season.
