Leeds United v Plymouth Argyle injury news: Doctor shares Karl Darlow update
Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow is expected to be monitored thoroughly until the end of the month, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The summer signing has been ruled out with a dislocated thumb and has been absent from the matchday squad for a number of weeks.
The injury expert expects him back by the final week of February and will currently be doing exercises to regain motion and strength in his thumb.
However, he is not expected to be fit for the Plymouth Argyle clash on Saturday, 17 February.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Darlow:
“He is expected to return this month, his focus will be more and more on sport-specific activities with normal or close to normal range of motion and strength restored in his thumb.
“Might be out until the final week of the month so will be monitored regularly until then.
“As he’s a goalkeeper, it’s obviously essential that he’s able to play without any pain.“
Can Darlow be the number one for Leeds United?
The Whites signed Darlow in the summer under the assumption he would be the first choice this season.
However, his unavailability for the first few games saw Illan Meslier retain his spot in the team and that has been the case ever since.

Darlow has only been restricted to just two league games and as many cup appearances with his Elland Road career yet to take off.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites could have moved fast to sign a West Ham defender with just a few negotiation points left to iron out.
