Leeds United transfers: Daniel Farke has money ready to go at Elland Road
Leeds United do have space to spend money in the winter transfer window if they wish, Dan Plumley has said.
Despite a quiet period expected at Elland Road, Daniel Farke has sanctioned loan exits for the likes of Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Crew this week.
Plumley, a football finance expert, admits while the latest accounts data would be needed for a more accurate projection, the Whites do have the means to strengthen.
“I think they do a little bit,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“We haven’t seen the 2024 accounts yet which will cover that first year in the Championship.
“Of course, we’re in 24/25 now so it’s tough to see where they are at with Championship PSR without that data, but if you look at the last year of the Premier League they were in, they had a loss of £33.7million which is inside Premier League regulations and they were well inside the Premier League regulations when inside that league, so I do think that would give them a little bit of flex if they need to.

“Where they are in the table will be a huge factor in that and if they do feel the need to strengthen to hopefully get them over the line and promoted then we may see a little bit of activity further down the line.
“I think they’re okay if they want to be, but they may choose to progress with the squad they have got.”

Paraag Marathe and The 49ers Enterprises have never shied away from backing Farke financially since their arrival at Elland Road.
That will be no different this month, but the German does have a squad littered with more quality than most in the Championship already.
It will certainly be one to watch in the next couple of weeks.
