Leeds United transfer window prediction made by expert after Gelhardt exit

Leeds United will “stick rather than twist” in the winter transfer window even after letting Joe Gelhardt leave the club, according to Ian Darke.

The TV commentator, speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, predicts Daniel Farke will be content with what he already has for the rest of the season, and is genuine in his intention not to be too active in the market.

Gelhardt was allowed to leave on loan to Hull City, for whom he got off the mark in midweek against Queens Park Rangers having barely featured for the Whites before his move.

“I don’t think Farke will want anyone else after Gelhardt out the door, he’ll want depth especially if they aren’t bringing many in,” Darke said.

“It seems Farke is generally happy with where he is and what he’s got, so I expect he’ll stick rather than twist.”

Leeds United mooted for quiet transfer window

Leeds United approached the campaign with the smallest squad in the Championship, but will be pleased with the current status of the promotion bid and players returning from injury.

Farke also oversaw the signing of Josuha Guilavogui as a free agent in October, while Gelhardt has been allowed to chase regular football on Humberside.

The Whites do still have several targets, but may not be in a rush to get deals over the line unless something becomes a necessity in the coming days.
