Leeds United transfer plan emerges for January as PSR update taken out of context
Leeds United fans will not be expecting much transfer activity in January.
After a disappointing end to the summer window, it was claimed that PSR had been maximised by Paraag Marathe and the Leeds board.
It has been said that Leeds cannot spend more than any player sales generated in January, with the need to at least break even noted at Elland Road.
Leeds have had a promising start to the Premier League season, but Daniel Farke will know that he cannot rest until the very final whistle in the quest to survive.

What has been said about Leeds United and PSR?
Dan Plumley believes that Leeds will need to focus on the regulatory process of PSR, rather than breaking even on transfers.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the football finance expert admits that it’s unlikely that the Whites will spend big again in January after their summer expenses.
“I think we probably need to focus on the regulatory process, rather than breaking even or profit,” he said.
“It’s probably been taken out of context slightly, but if you look at profit and sustainability regulations, which we know are the key factor of what you can spend, I think that’s where you look at the outlay in the summer, and that was significant.
“They have spent against those regulations already, and you wouldn’t, therefore, expect a huge spend in January as a result.

“I would focus more on regulation, of course, a lot will depend on where they are in the table come that window, becuase that can also force clubs into snap decisions that they wouldn’t necessarily plan for.
“I think there is a fair comment that they have invested significantly in the summer and therefore, it’s unlikely they will spend big in January.”

Who could Leeds United sign in January?
Leeds United have currently been linked to Piotr Zielinski of Inter Milan, as transfer speculation begins two months before the window opens.
For that to happen, though, the likes of Illan Meslier and Willy Gnonto may need to be sold for profit.
It may be a case of sticking with what they have and praying they can stay in the Premier League.
