Leeds United transfer news: Emi Buendia likely ‘to clear medical’
Aston Villa midfielder Emi Buendia should clear his Leeds United medical if needed if he’s not reeling with the after-effects of the ACL rupture from last season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his erratic game this season for Villa is not an indicator that he will face issues with his pre-transfer medical checks.
This comes after The Sun reported on 26 January that the Whites want to sign him before the close of the transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Buendia:
“His minutes this season wouldn’t be an indicator of him failing a medical.
“Rather, the club medical would be looking at his knee and seeing if there are medium and long-term changes that they aren’t comfortable with.
“It also remains to be seen if he’s carrying any after-effects and if not I expect him to pass the medical.“
Emi Buendia will be a good signing for Leeds United
While the 28-year-old might have played just 89 league minutes this season, he is a quality player who could make a difference for Leeds.
He’s got the ability to score and also create and would undoubtedly thrive in the Championship.

However, it remains to be seen if he would be willing to drop a division or if he’ll hold out for offers from top-flight clubs.
In other Leeds United news, a major development has emerged as the Whites are eyeing a move for a Premier League striker.
