Leeds United told to sign three Paul Robinson
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to add two new central midfielders and a new left-back to their squad in January.
Leeds have struggled at the start of this Premier League season with Marcelo Bielsa overseeing just one win in eight games.
On Saturday, Bielsa’s team was decimated by selection issues in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton.

Pascal Struijk had to start in Kalvin Phillips’ role, Rodrigo was forced to play up front and Tyler Roberts had to occupy the midfield due to Stuart Dallas being needed at left-back as the Whites lost at St Mary’s.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay reported on his podcast last week that the San Franciso 49ers are likely to invest more money into the Yorkshire club before this season finishes and Robinson wants that money spent on adding to key areas in the squad.
“Leeds miss Kalvin Phillips hugely – he’s almost irreplaceable in that team,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“Leeds need to strengthen there, they need a versatile midfielder. I think they need cover at left-back and in the midfield they need a defensive midfielder and another central player.”

Leeds were strongly linked with Conor Gallagher and Lewis O’Brien in the summer as they aimed to sign a new central midfielder.
However, after Gallagher opted to join Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea and Huddersfield’s valuation of O’Brien proved too high, Leeds ignored their need to strengthen the middle and signed winger Daniel James from Manchester United instead.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to re-sign this former midfielder in January.
