Leeds United to take advantage of Leicester City situation as Sky Sports pundit shares Brendan Rodgers verdict

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Leeds United can take advantage of the growing pressure on Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City on Thursday night, according to Paul Robinson.

Jesse Marsch and his men will make their way to the King Power Stadium this week in a bid to arrest their current slump of form in the Premier League.

Leicester fans have made it known that they want Rodgers to be sacked with the East Midlands outfit currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

Ex-Leeds goalkeeper Robinson feels that the anger at Leicester could play into his former club’s hands on Thursday night.

“It seems like we’re talking about Rodgers’ future every week, ‘he’s got to get a result, he’s near the door’,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

There’s a lot of unhappiness and a lot of unrest at Leicester, which will help Leeds in a way.

It’s not an easy place to go and get a result but if you press and put pressure on them – like Leeds do – and turn the home crowd against them then it’s an opportunity for Leeds.

As far as Rodgers’ future is concerned, it’s clear that it’s a relationship with the club that’s nearing its end if results don’t improve.”

Leeds have not won any of their last six Premier League games and are hurtling towards the relegation zone at this early stage of the campaign.

Leicester have just one win in 10 games and that was against 19th-placed Nottingham Forest.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch has been told to enter quiet talks with the PGMOL after Jeff Stelling made an accusation.
