Leeds United to still sign ‘phenomenal’ Manuel Benson after Manor Solomon announcement

Dan Bardell has urged Leeds United to sign Manuel Benson from Burnley even after bringing in Manor Solomon from Tottenham.

The Whites confirmed the loan signing of the Israel international on 27 August and could look to bring in another forward before the transfer window shuts.

This could see Daniel Farke maintain his interest in Benson who appears to be keen on a move to Elland Road [HITC].

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes the signing of Solomon shouldn’t rule out a move for the 27-year-old from the Clarets.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “It is a long season in the Championship so Leeds could do with multiple options.

I don’t think a move for Solomon necessarily cancels out them signing another player, they’ve obviously lost quite a few players during the window.

Benson would be a good pickup because he was brilliant in the Burnley team that got promoted. I thought he was phenomenal in the year they went up.

He’s a signing that would excite Leeds fans. He’s proven at the upper echelons of the Championship and he would make Leeds better straight away.

Leeds United told to get Manuel Benson from Burnley

The Whites are looking to rebuild their attacking areas after losing Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter during the summer window.

These sales were huge blows but Farke finally appears to be replacing them with Solomon joining Largie Ramazani at Elland Road.

Before the deadline, Leeds could go further wrong than bringing Benson in from Turf Moor who has shown terrific Championship pedigree in the past.

The former former Royal Antwerp star was electric as Vincent Kompany’s side earned promotion but only featured sparingly in the Premier League last season.

A deal to bring him in to play under Farke could prove to be the spark that is needed to help his side earn promotion at the second attempt.

In other Leeds United news, Max Wober could leave in last gasp £16.8m deal.
