Leeds United to prepare for transfer exodus as vultures circle

Paul Robinson believes Leeds United could be at risk of a mass exodus this summer if they are unable to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke's side are set to go head-to-head with Southampton at Wembley Stadium in the Championship play-off final on Sunday 26 May, having missed out on automatic promotion.

The Whites come into the match off the back of an impressive 4-0 victory over Norwich City at Elland Road, whereas the Saints boast a 3-1 win against West Brom on their side of the draw.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: "If Leeds aren't promoted, they will lose Gnonto and Summerville, Rodon won't become a permanent signing, and they'll be tested with bids for Archie Gray. He's been a quality player this season.

"The vultures will be circling. Leeds are a top side, and if they do miss out on promotion, it won't be by much. Just look at the quality in the current squad.

"So, Rodon won't become a permanent signing, they'll have big offers for Gray, Gnonto will leave, Summerville will leave, they'll have bids for Piroe and Rutter, Patrick Bamford maybe, even with his injury problems.

"It will be difficult for Leeds to keep some of their best players next season. They get into the Premier League and they don't have that problem - I think the players stay. In the Championship, they've got a real problem."

Leeds United must prepare for transfer vultures without Premier League promotion

With a number of sensational stars in Farke's squad this season, it would come as no surprise to see several clubs come knocking at Elland Road this summer.

While multiple players are set to return from their loan spells, Farke has made it clear that many of those players have no place in the squad, currently being content with his current set of players.

Some of the financial issues at Elland Road could play their part this summer, however, which could see a fire-sale if Premier League promotion is not achieved this season.
