Leeds United to miss out as Archie Gray to make Premier League loan decision

Archie Gray will not return to Leeds United on loan in January and will either stay at Tottenham or make a loan switch to a fellow Premier League club, David Norris says.

Since joining Spurs from Elland Road in a £25million deal over the summer, Gray has made 11 appearances but is yet to start in the Premier League.

Several in the media have mooted the idea of Gray returning to help Leeds’ promotion bid for the second half of the season including Don Goodman [14 November], but Norris – speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News – is struggling to envisage the move.

“Leeds would be delighted with it, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they at least try it,” the former Whites midfielder said.

“To be honest, I can’t see it. If he was to go anywhere, I’d say somewhere else in the Premier League is more likely.

“I just can’t see Gray going back to the Championship so soon after leaving the division.”

Leeds United would welcome Archie Gray back on loan

Gray, like family before him, made a statement while at Leeds United, despite his tender years, and many fans were heartbroken to see what they also felt was an inevitable move to the Premier League.

While Gray has featured in the domestic cups, in the Europa League and as a substitute in the Premier League, Postecoglou rather sees him as a long-term option.

Some view the potential move as one which would make sense, but others see Gray receiving more of a benefit in not halting his Spurs development.
