Leeds United to find ‘ideal replacement’ for Crysencio Summerville in £20m update

Dan Bardell believes Jonathan Rowe would be the perfect replacement option for Crysencio Summerville at Leeds Unied.

Telegraph journalist John Percy reported on 5 August that the Whites’ opening offer for the 21-year-old would be in the region of £7million.

This would likely be rejected by the Canaries as The Chronicle has suggested (7 August) that a fee in the region of £15-20m is wanted.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks the England youth international would be great for Leeds but thinks the fee demands are too steep.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “Yeah, I think Rowe would be the ideal replacement for Summerville.

The question is of how much he would cost. The rumours suggest between £15m and £20m and I’m not sure Leeds will spend that money in the Championship, especially with recent financial concerns.

It is a case of whether the player thinks Leeds have a better chance of going up than Norwich and they probably have.

I think if Rowe is going to leave I think he’ll want it to be for a Premier League team.

I think Leeds will think Rowe would be great but it would be a tough ask.

Leeds United want Jonathan Rowe

There is no doubt that Daniel Farke will be keen to add an attacking wideman after the loss of Summerville to West Ham United.

There is a lack of creativity without the Dutchman and Rowe could prove to be the man to add that moving into the new season.

The Englishman is direct, powerful and quick on the ball and also has an eye for goal from outside.

Last campaign was truly a breakout year in the championship for the Norwich man who scored 13 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions [FotMob].

At 21, the winger is far from the finished article but if anyone can get the best out of him it is Farke who has shown his development expertise year-on-year.

It seems unclear whether the Whites will spend up to £20m on Rowe but he could prove to be worth multiples of that moving forward.

In other Leeds news, the Whites may look to repeat their Crysnecio Summerville trick with a new transfer this summer.
