Leeds United tipped to sign Dominik Livakovic for under £10m as Croatia goalkeeper linked - Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Leeds United would be getting “decent value” if they were to sign Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic for less than £10million, according to Paul Robinson.

French news outlet Media Foot reported on 12 December that Leeds number one Illan Meslier is attracting attention from Chelsea and Manchester United, leading to the Whites becoming interested in 27-year-old Livakovic.

Livakovic has impressed at the World Cup in Qatar, helping Croatia reach the semi-finals before suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Argentina.

Robinson is wary of signing a player based on his performance at the World Cup but if he costs less than £10million and has been performing well for Dinamo Zagreb, he doesn’t see why Livakovic would be a bad signing if he’s going to play regularly.

“It would be decent value if he’s a regular performer,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News when asked if Leeds should sign Livakovic if he’ll cost a seven-figure sum.

But you need to guarantee that he performs the way he has done in the World Cup on a regular basis at club level.”

Livakovic has been on the books at Dinamo Zagreb since 2015.

He’s played 262 times for them in all competitions, winning five Croatian league titles, four Best Croatian goalkeeper trophies and was named in the Europa League squad of the season in 2020/21, in which he kept a clean sheet against Tottenham to win in the last-16.

The former NK Zagreb shot-stopper has played 70 times in both the Europa League and Champions League

In other Leeds United news, talks are underway over this player quitting Elland Road for a high-paid contract.
