Leeds United stuck with PSR dilemma as Patrick Bamford faces contract termination
Patrick Bamford quite clearly has no future at Leeds United.
While this summer has been fruitful in terms of incomings at Leeds, very little progress has been made when it comes to shifting the deadwood.
Largie Ramazani is heading for an Elland Road exit, though several others have failed to build interest ahead of a potential transfer.
One of those is Bamford, who could have his Leeds contract terminated in the coming days.

This article includes exclusive comments from former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
Patrick Bamford could yet stay at Leeds United
Despite several links connecting Bamford with an exit from Leeds, there hasn’t been any interest that has materialised this summer.
Burnley had been mooted as a landing spot for Bamford, but once again, nothing came from it.
Instead, Leeds may be forced to terminate the contract of Bamford, though Paul Robinson highlighted the PSR dilemma they would face if they opted to go down that route.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “Paying him up or coming to a deal on his contract would be an option.
“The manager’s been quite open and adamant that he won’t be in the squad – that’s it, it’s done.

“And if the move’s not there for him, then he is sat there taking up a part of the FFP and PSR on the wage bill, it’d be a difficult one.
“You have to weigh up what it’s going to cost you. Do you get rid of it in one big chunk or do you pay it in instalments over the season, which is the best way to do it? But I don’t think it’s ideal for anybody.
“His future’s obviously not at Leeds, and I think for everybody, it’s important that there’s a resolution, whether it’s he leaves on loan, permanent, or they pay part of his wages towards a loan.
“It’s up to Leeds now to find a resolution of when and where he actually leaves. If they can come to a deal on his contract, that might be something that they do towards the end of the window if they need to free up space in the squad.”

Patrick Bamford simply must be moved on
Bamford is ultimately a waste of space and money at Leeds as of right now, and the last thing they will want is to be paying the wages of someone who will not contribute to their campaign.
After Farke made it clear Bamford wasn’t in his plans, that is certainly going to be the case if he stays, and with several strikers ahead of him in the pecking order, he has no route back.
Leeds will not receive much, if anything, for his sale, but they need to do what it takes to get him off their books as a matter of urgency.
