Leeds United stance shared as Manor Solomon loan termination mooted

Paul Robinson does not believe Leeds United will terminate Manor Solomon’s loan spell and send him back to Tottenham in January.

The Whites faced an almost-identical situation last season when Djed Spence saw his season-long loan cut short by six months, and it has been suggested the same could happen to the winger.

After missing four Championship fixtures through injury, the 25-year-old has found it difficult to rediscover his form and has been dropped to the bench in light of Dan James’ return from the sidelines.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “It’s been really tough for him with injuries. He started really well and he’s a top-class player. It was a really good deal for Leeds to get him on loan because I expect other teams also wanted him.

“It was a real coup signing for Leeds, started really well and then got injured. It’s a long season in the Championship so I don’t think there will be any call for him to be sent back. He’s someone the manager will utilise.

“Ramazani has been injured, as has James, so Solomon is another option for him. With two games per week coming before the end of the season, with the injuries they’ve got, I don’t see Leeds replacing him with Solomon with someone of a similar quality.

“It’s just a case of getting him back to his best between now and the end of the season.”

Leeds United to terminate Manor Solomon’s loan spell?

Getting rid of Solomon during the January transfer window would be a silly mistake, almost certainly one that Daniel Farke would not want to put his name on.

While the Israeli international has struggled to get out of first gear on the pitch, having been handed a start against QPR before the international break, Farke seems happy with the player.

With the Whites aiming to secure promotion back to the Premier League this term, Farke needs all the players possible at his disposal, and Solomon could be an important figure further down the line.

In other Leeds United news, a “stumbling block” has emerged for a possible Elland Road exit ahead of the January transfer window.
