Leeds United stance revealed as Rasmus Kristensen transfer update emerges

Rasmus Kristensen’s time at Leeds United is nearing an end after joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, Paul Robinson has said.

Having already impressed at the Bundesliga club, Florian Plettenberg reported [7 October] that Frankfurt already want to trigger the buy option in the loan deal, though their sporting director has his cards close to his chest.

The 27-year-old has already made more appearances on loan for AS Roma and Frankfurt than he has at Elland Road, and Robinson cannot wait to see the back of him permanently.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “The sooner that Leeds get the money in the bank and the player’s wages off the books the better. He’s a player who is surplus to requirement, which is why he is out on loan.

“His wages are off the book and there is a potential transfer fee coming in. For any player who is out on loan, unless it’s a young talent that’s developing, the writing is on the wall.

“Kristensen has an asset value. If the club can get him off the wage bill in January, that’ll be good. We know about the FFP and PSR laws, so a deal like that would be good for the club.”

Leeds United to sell Rasmus Kristensen on a permanent deal in January?

Kristensen looks to have made his stance on playing for the Whites very clear, given he has not featured for the club since their relegation from the Premier League in 2022/23.

Even with the current injury crisis at Elland Road, Daniel Farke has managed without the Denmark international, with Jayden Bogle and Sam Byram occupying the right flank.

Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson have both earned the manager’s trust back since their loan adventures, but it looks as though Kristensen’s time in Yorkshire is over.
