Leeds United set for new compensation after contract developments – Exclusive

Angus Kinnear is hoping to leave another promotion to the Premier League in his legacy at Leeds United before departing this summer.

The chief executive is leaving Elland Road to join Everton, who are starting a new era at Bramley-Moore Dock under The Friedkin Group.

Despite his confirmed exit, more faces could be leaving West Yorkshire to join him on Merseyside, leaving the 49ers Enterprises scrambling for answers.

49ers ready for Leeds compensation

Kinnear is pushing to bring Nick Hammond and Gary Penrice with him to Everton, as he looks to snap up influential figures from Elland Road.

Dan Plumley has insisted that compensation is likely for any member of staff at Leeds who makes the move to Everton, with contracts changing in modern football.

The football finance expert admitted that people want to bring in others they trust in new roles, with Leeds likely bringing in money, regardless of who leaves.

“It’s highly likely,” Plumley exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“We see it a lot nowerdays, don’t we?

We know that managers take coaching staff with them, and in boardrooms, people want to bring in people they have worked with and trust and have that relationship with.

“It’s happening more and more now in the modern game, and clubs are being aware of that as well, so it’s highly likely that you start to insert compensation clauses in all of those contracts, so if that worst-case scenario does happen, at least you can gain some compensation from it.”

Leeds only want Premier League

Regardless of what is happening in the summer and whoever is leaving, Premier League football is the only thing on the mind of everyone at Elland Road.

Leeds slipped to second in the Championship after their 2-2 draw with Swansea on Saturday, and are now level on points with Burnley in third.

Kinnear may be leaving, joined with others, but he will be much easier to replace with Premier League football back at Elland Road.

The 49ers are ready to kick on in West Yorkshire and spend big money, but that is only possible if Daniel Farke can get back to the top flight with seven huge games remaining.
