Leeds United set for another income boost after 49ers development – Finance Guru
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United..
Dan Plumley has insisted that the 49ers Enterprises kicking on with their redevelopment of Elland Road will hand Leeds United another revenue boost.
It has been shared that the work to increase capacity at Elland Road to 55,000 has already begun with drawings done, at an estimated cost of £200million.
Plumley admitted that moving to that capacity should add another £600,000 in revenue to each home matchday for Leeds, with fans set to fill the ground no matter what league they are watching.

“It will certainly provide a boost,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“The matchday income was around £25million in the Premier League, it was lower in the Championship, about £11-12million so you are going to get that dip.
“If you assume and work on an increase in capacity that is around 15,000, if it pushes up to 55,000 and let’s say there is the average ticket price of £40 for Leeds, that’s going to get you an extra £600,000 per matchday and you can stretch that further with hospitality prices.
“I’m working on basic averages, but you can easily see an extra £600,000-plus per matchday with that increased capacity.

“You can see the play behind it and whether or not Leeds are in the Premier League or the Championship, they will fill that ground, so it’s no surprise to see it taking shape in the early stages of the takeover.”
In other Leeds United news, Plumley has backed the 49ers to kick on with £200m plans at Elland Road already
