Leeds United ready to sign perfect Dominic Calvert-Lewin partner – ‘It is a deal that could happen’

Leeds United look to be in the market for new attacking reinforcements at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke has turned things around in LS11, with Leeds sitting 15th in the Premier League and four points clear of the relegation zone.

That is despite limited spending in the final third, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha both signing as free agents over the summer.

Both have exceeded early expectations, with Calvert-Lewin even returning to the England squad.

That hasn’t stopped Leeds transfer rumours moving forward, with AZ Alkmaar star Troy Parrott one name that refuses to go away.

Troy Parrott to Leeds United is definitely on

Keith Wyness believes that Parrott signing for Leeds is a deal that could happen, with definite interest from West Yorkshire in the Irish goal machine.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the ex-Everton and Aston Villa chief executive shared what he found out from phone calls about the striker.

“I think it is a deal that could happen, actually,” Wyness said.

“And when I did a couple of calls about Troy Parrott, there is certainly an interest from Leeds, and I think that’s the right sort of club that fits him as well.

“I think he could be a bit of a breakthrough player next season if he comes in.

“You know, I think he’s shown at the level, certainly for the Republic of Ireland, as well as at club level, although it’s not the same as the Premier League at club level there.

“I still think he is worth the shot, and I think he can do it. Certainly, everybody I’ve spoken to has said that mentally he’s a good lad, and they reckon he could do it.

“So, he’s one that Farke could work with very well, and I think he’d be a great support with Calvert-Lewin next season.”

Who could miss out at Leeds United?

Joel Piroe is the obvious candidate to be moved on at Elland Road.

After failing to take a single opportunity this season after promotion, the Suriname international even missed his penalty in the FA Cup shootout success against West Ham.

Relegation from the Premier League would likely open the door again for Piroe, but if Leeds stay up, he could be on his way out with Parrott coming in.
