Leeds United open talks for Barcelona gem who’s been hailed a ‘top-level’ player – Exclusive
Leeds United have made contact with Barcelona over the loan signing of Roony Bardghji, MOT Leeds News understands.
Despite a historic result against Chelsea, Leeds are still in a battle against relegation this season, and their ability to avoid that will hinge on decisions made over the next two months.
Recruitment in January is going to be key to their survival hopes, and the Whites are intent on bolstering their attacking options.
MOT Leeds News understands that Bardghji is a player of interest to Leeds, with negotiations bubbling away behind the scenes.
Barcelona open to Roony Bardghji exit in January
Since joining the La Liga giants from FC Copenhagen, Bardghji has had his gametime restricted by Hansi Flick, for reasons quite obvious.
Ahead of him in the pecking order is Lamine Yamal, who, despite being 18 years old, is already widely regarded as one of the best footballers in the world.
His remarkable form has seen Bardghji limited to just 173 minutes of La Liga action across even appearances, with his other two appearances coming in the Champions League, where he registered an assist.
Reports from Spain claim that Barca are willing to let him leave on loan, and having scouted him from his time in Denmark, Leeds are one of the teams looking into a potential deal.

A handful of Premier League clubs have been mooted with an interest, though the Whites lead the chase in that regard; however, it is believed that Barcelona would rather Bardghji stay in La Liga.
Alexander Isak has been full of praise for Roony Bardghji
Not only have the last 12 months seen Bardghji make a dream move to Barcelona, but they have also seen him make his senior debut for Sweden.
The 20-year-old has three caps for Sweden, where he has played alongside Gabriel Gudmundsson, who has been key for Leeds this season.
While he may not have registered a goal contribution for his country yet, Bardghji has impressed Alexander Isak, who spoke out about the Barcelona star when he made his debut.
As quoted by Tribuna, Isak said: “Roony is a top-level player. I don’t see him as a talent who has a chance; he’s established. He’s where he is for a reason.
“I think he’s coming in with very good energy. It’s a shame for him that we’re in that situation and that we lost. But for me, I think it was a ray of light for us.”
