Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton injury update shared by Doctor
Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton may not start again this season amid his recent injury and lack of match fitness, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that more than his recent setback, which he has categorised as a Grade 2 muscle one, it is the minutes he’s got under his belt.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old has played just two minutes of senior football since February.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Shackleton:
“I reckon this was a mild/medium Grade 2 muscle injury.
“Not overly serious but what is more worrying is his lack of match fitness.
“He did suffer a more major injury back at the start of the year and since then has barely featured.
“It’s tough to see him start again this season given how little he’s played.
“The club also may not want to take any chances.“
Jamie Shackleton has been a bit-part player for Leeds United
It does not make sense for Daniel Farke or Leeds to gamble on Shackleton when they’ve got options at right-back and central midfield.
Shackleton has barely featured for the Whites this season, making just seven league starts – with his last one being in October.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for him as he’s not playing the ideal amount of minutes a player at his age would want to.
