Leeds United: Marc Roca permanent exit on the cards after latest development
Leeds United fans can put two and two together regarding the future of Marc Roca after a recent development, Paul Robinson has said.
The Spanish midfielder, 27, is currently on loan at Real Betis but the chances of him coming back to Elland Road look slim after ElDesmarque reported on its website (13 March) has bought a house in Spain.
It was reported by TEAMTALK that the Whites are ready to sell Roca on a permanent deal and a reported £10.3million option-to-buy only further enhances the belief he has no future at Leeds.
Former Whites keeper Robinson – speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News – thinks it is a given he will move on but also suggested it is unlikely any of the players allowed to depart on loan last summer would get into the current side, who are top of the Championship, anyway.
“I mean it’s putting two and two together isn’t it?” Robinson replied when asked about the fact Roca had bought a house in Spain.
“But I think with a lot of the players that are out on loan you can pretty much say they don’t have a future at the club unless it’s the younger players who have been sent out on loan for a different reason than financially and the manager not wanting them.
“Younger players who have been sent out on loan for game time, fall into a different category to senior players who the manager’s not seen fit to be part of his squad or haven’t fit into the structure financially.
“People like Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen others that are out on loan, even Ian Poveda to that extent, the manager’s made the right decisions on all of them.
“You can’t question the decisions that he’s made because those players didn’t really cut it at Premier League level, they struggled in the Premier League.
“I think with the finances and the way their contracts were constructed it gave the manager an opportunity to move them on and it also gave the manager a bit of freedom to do what he wanted to do in the transfer market, bringing the likes of Joe Rodon in, Ethan Ampadu, Connor Roberts, they’ve been excellent.
“The players the manager’s brought in, the decisions that he’s made have been very good. So, as long as the manager’s in charge, the players that are out on loan you wouldn’t imagine them having a future.
“I’m looking at the players out on loan, looking at the names and where they would play, not one of the players out on loan would come back into the starting XI so I think that tells its own story.”
Leeds United ready to sanction permanent Marc Roca sale
Leeds’ recruitment ahead of the 2022-23 season left a lot to be desired there is absolutely no getting away from that fact.
In fairness, Roca probably wasn’t the worst of the bunch. In fact, before an untimely injury to Tyler Adams occurred he was actually looking a pretty astute transfer.

But, like so many others, he took the easy way out by making the most of a clause in his contract to depart on loan after Leeds were relegated.
For that fact alone he should not be allowed anywhere near Thorp Arch again. He made his bed, now he can lay in it. In his new home in Spain.
In other Leeds United news, Robinson loved something Ross McCormack did recently.
