Leeds United luck out with Jonathan Rowe transfer as Elland Road havoc predicted

Don Goodman does not believe Leeds United will rue missing out on Jonathan Rowe in the summer transfer window due to the other options on their books.

Many felt Leeds failing to agree terms with Norwich City late in the window was a failure on the club’s behalf as they scrambled to replace to likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter.

Rowe has since joined Marseille, where he is slowly finding his feet, but Leeds instead moved for Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani.

And while Solomon has struggled for momentum so far, Goodman believes the pair can offer as much as – if not more – than Rowe.

“Rowe is a player that would have done well at Leeds, but Norwich wanted more and the player agreed – possibly because he was going to be paid more than Leeds were paying him,” Goodman told MOT Leeds News.

“I don’t blame Leeds for sticking to their guns and they have since brought in Manor Solomon who, when fully fit, will cause havoc in the Championship. The key of course is keeping him fit.

There’s also Largie Ramazani, who started his Leeds career fantastically well prior to injury. When I watched him against Sunderland recently I was impressed.

“He’s a constant threat and already has three goals and one assist from eight games. There’s an argument to be made whether Rowe’s figures would be any better.”

Manor Solomon an ace in the pack for Leeds United

As Goodman says, Solomon really can cause “havoc” at this level. The Israel international would be playing regularly in the Premier League if not for injuries.

It says it all that Solomon has been restricted to just two Championship starts for Leeds so far, but the season is long and he will surely show his quality over time.

Rowe would have been a great signing for Leeds – of that there is no doubt – but Daniel Farke is certainly not lacking in options in the final third of the field.

Besides, if Leeds earn promotion back to the Premier League, we could yet see Rowe at Elland Road next year.

In other Leeds United news, Farke has been backed to make a change with regards to Joel Piroe.
