Leeds United lose value as new partnership signed off – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Leeds United will have signed a less valuable sponsorship deal after dropping their partnership with SBOTOP following relegation.
It has been confirmed that the partnership with the betting company has been replaced by a new deal signed with BOXT in recent weeks.
Plumley admitted that sponsorship deals can hit up to £10million in the Premier League, although the exposure of the Championship will drop.

“You tend to find that sponsorship deals will be less in the Championship,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“Not massive shifts, not huge amounts and not given the levels you’re looking at for outside the top six in the Premier League, front-of-shirt deals are £10million of below, that’s as high as they go.
“It doesn’t swing too much, but you do expect a drop in the Championship, purely because of the exposure of that league versus the Premier League and the money difference.
“That’s what it comes down to.”

With this deal signed off and a secondary partner also announced, we are getting closer to the new kits being revealed ahead of the Championship kicking off.
It is less than one month until it all kicks off, and pre-season is well underway now at Thorp Arch.
