Leeds United issued advice as Leicester City PSR fallout rumbles on
Don Goodman has urged Leeds United not to waste any time concerning themselves with the PSR saga involving Leicester City.
Leicester look set to avoid any sort of points deduction after the Premier League confirmed this month that an independent appeal board had upheld the club’s appeal against an alleged PSR breach.
The Foxes were alleged to have breached financial rules en route to winning promotion from the Championship at Leeds’ expense last season.
Due to the fact they are now under the jurisdiction of the Premier League, rather than the English Football League, they are not able to be punished.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Goodman said: “There’s a loophole there that needs closing. I’m sure between them the EFL and Premier League will do something about that.
“Ultimately, Leicester played the system and the system allowed them to play it. Leeds will be best served concentrating on what is in the here and now, rather than the past.
“That doesn’t get you anywhere, so they just need to focus on this season, this squad, this manager and get promoted back to the Premier League this season.”
Leeds United right to feel angry over Leicester development
Leicester City found a loophole in the rules and exploited it. However, it is rather embarrassing that the Premier League and EFL did not act quicker to close it.
It turns out that Leeds could have spent a further £60million on players last summer, say, and they would have got away with it if promoted – which they would have been.
As it is, they face another campaign of trying to get back to the Premier League and must do it the hard way after losing a number of big hitters.

Leeds fans will rightly feel angered over this development, but as Goodman says, there is little point now dwelling on it.
Daniel Farke has the mission of guiding the Whites back to the top flight, and there is no reason why he cannot succeed in doing so.
In other Leeds United news, Godman believes every player and manager will be saying the same thing amid a Patrick Bamford development.
