Leeds United injury news: Doctor issues Patrick Bamford calf worry
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford faces the risk of another injury despite playing 90 minutes v Huddersfield according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the calf is very prone to re-injury and expects the Whites to be conservative as they would want to ensure the Englishman does not face any fresh worries.
The Whites next take on Stoke City at Elland Road on Tuesday, 5 March, after being held to a 1-1 draw at the weekend.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Bamford:
“Sounds like he had a Grade 2 out of 4 calf injury but that area can be quite sensitive so would expect them to be conservative.
“He played the 90 minutes recently and that could be a good indicator of him reaching pre-injury levels.
“That said, the calf complex is very prone to reinjury due to the unique demands placed on it during football so that’s always a concern during rehab.“
Leeds United may bench Patrick Bamford v Stoke?
Given how impactful Bamford has been lately, the last thing that Daniel Farke would want is for him to pick up another injury.
The 30-year-old has scored in each of Leeds’ last three games as they’re aiming to finish in the top two in the Championship this season.
While Joel Piroe has been underperforming slightly, Bamford has taken over and his form could guide the Whites back into the Premier League.

Farke will be aware of what the striker brings to the table and is probably having conversations with the physios over the best way to handle his return.
