Leeds United deal for Jayden Bogle expected to go through in ‘interesting’ development
Dan Bardell fully expects Leeds United to push through a deal for Jayden Bogle from Sheffield United as a replacement option for Archie Gray.
A report from the Daily Mirror’s print edition on 17 July suggested that the Whites are at “loggerheads” with the Blades over a transfer for the 23-year-old.
Chris Wilder’s side are said to be demanding at least £7million for the Englishman after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes Bogle could represent a right-back replacement for the outgoing Gray.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “Archie Gray has obviously gone and Luke Ayling has too.
“Leeds need a new right-back, with both of them now missing from their squad. I think Jayden Bogle is a really good Championship player and was one of Sheffield United’s better players in the Premier League.
“He’s got plenty of positive experience at Leeds’ current level which is a plus. He’d probably see it as an interesting and positive move to join Leeds from Sheffield United.
“It is certainly a move that I can see materialising.“
Leeds United handed Jayden Bogle boost
There is no doubt that Daniel Farke’s side have been hit hard by the departure of Gray who joined Tottenham earlier in the window.
The 18-year-old’s ability to play as a central midfielder and a right-back made him a Championship regular last season.
With him gone, the Whites only really have Sam Byram as an option on the right side of defence which leaves them light for squad rotation and quality.

Bogle would bring plenty of Championship and Premier League experience from his spells with Derby County and Sheffield United.
Although the Leeds hierarchy may not want to spend £7m on the 23-year-old, there is a good chance he will turn out to be a positive signing.
