Leeds United get most value as yet another new deal signed off - Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Dan Plumley has insisted that the commercial growth of Leeds United has been a real “success story” since their return to the Premier League.

The finance expert admitted that with the 49ers tie-in and other deals being signed, there is still real room for even more growth if they remain in the top flight.

It comes after Leeds United announced yet another new deal this month, with TransferMate being confirmed as an official club FX partner on December 15.

“You look at the growth in it since their return to the Premier League and it’s been a success story for Leeds,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“They’ve seen the opportunity to develop commercially now they are back in the Premier League, we know they’ve got the history of Leeds United and it’s still a very well-known club around the world to play on, you have the tie-in with the 49ers which they have executed well in commercial terms, it’s been steady growth.

“Again, the club and commercial department should be commended for that, and there is room for more growth in that, we’re seeing things like this and going into the digital space is going to be important for clubs, the most value you can get out of those deals is when you’re a Premier League.

Retaining that status will still be key to some of these deals.”

Andrea Radirzzani may not have got things right 100% in terms of on the pitch, but off it, the Whites have certainly grown massively since getting to the Premier League.

With the 49ers set to take the reigns sooner rather than later, let’s hope it can go to another level.
