Leeds United forced into quick Rasmus Kristensen decision amid transfer development

Dan Bardell believes Leeds United had to move quickly to loan Rasmus Kristensen with no options for a permanent deal.

The Whites confirmed via their official website on 19 July that the Denmark international had completed a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga side now have an option to make his stay permanent for £12.6 million at the end of the campaign [Florian Plettenberg].

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “It is clear that he isn’t going to play in the Championship for Leeds so Kristensen had to go.

They couldn’t find someone to buy him on a permanent so they had to loan him to get him off the books.

He’s the type of player that would return if Leeds got to the Premier League and there’s a few others like that.

They just needed to get him off the wage bill quickly because they are in the Championship with him.

Rasmus Kristensen set to leave Leeds United

The 27-year-old featured for Leeds as they were relegated from the Premier League and clearly didn’t want to stay.

The Dane does not want to play football in the English second tier, especially when there is interest in him from top European leagues.

This saw him leave last season and join Roma for the campaign and now he has confirmed another loan deal to Germany.

Leeds did have a need for a right-back but with Jayden Bogle coming through the doors at Elland Raod already, that need has been negated.

It doesn’t appear that, even if promotion is secured, Kristensen will not play for the Whites again.

In other Leeds United news, Willy Gnonto could leave for just £15m due to teammate situation.
