Leeds United: Fears over ‘admiring glances’ for Crysencio Summerville as message sent to 49ers Enterprises

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United …

Leeds United must resist a January departure for Crysencio Summerville, according to Paul Robinson.

With four goals and two assists in the Championship this season, the Dutchman has been on fire for Daniel Farke. A game-winning brace against Norwich, both excellent finishes, has seen him emerge as one of the league’s in-form stars.

Per FBRef, he averages 4.22 shots and 59 shot-creating actions per 90 this season, both the highest in the squad. However, as is natural with the second-division’s best players, Premier League sides may come sniffing in January for the top-flight experienced 21-year-old, which would be a use loss in Leeds’ promotion push.

Robinson has pleaded with 49ers Enterprises to not sell their best players in January, including Summerville. The new owners must resist offers and keep their best talent as it’s the best way to get promotion.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “There’s going to be interest in Leeds players because they’ve got a squad that’s capable of getting into the Premier League.

“The way that Summerville’s playing, they are going to be admiring glances from other teams. But if you want to get out of the Championship, you keep your squad together.

“There’s absolutely no point in listening to any offers in January if they want to get out of this league. Summerville’s played, come to the fore, scored and played a big part.

“You don’t go selling your best players in January. With the 49ers coming in, with the money there, you’d like to think there’s enough resilience there to resist any kind of bid.”

In other Leeds United news, Farke has shared who he wanted to take the penalty instead of Bamford against Stoke with talks held.
