Archie Gray all set for Premier League move in new Leeds United update
David Norris expects Archie Gray to be playing in the Premier League next year – ideally with Leeds United.
The academy product and fan favourite enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season at Elland Road in 2023-24.
Gray played 47 times in a mixture of central midfield and right-back as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight.
The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked already this summer, as have European heavyweights Borussia Dortmund [TEAMtalk, 14 June].
Former Leeds midfielder Norris expects Gray to remain in Yorkshire for another 12 months, before then moving on if promotion is not achieved.
“He’s a Leeds boy and will play in the Premier League,” Norris told MOT Leeds News. “I’d like to see him do another season at Leeds.
“If he does that and does it right, he can play in the Premier League and still be loved by Leeds fans. If he went down the route of forcing through a transfer – which I’d never expect him to do – it’d be different.
“So I’d say another year at Leeds, then live out his dream in the Premier League next year and he will still be considered a favourite even if he leaves after giving them some loyalty.”
Archie Gray looks set to stay at Leeds United
Leeds value Gray so highly – and rightly so – that no Premier League team can come close to their valuation.
Manchester United, for example, may think £15million is more than enough for a teenager with one season of senior football under his belt, but they would be wrong.
Gray has the world at his feet and will be in no hurry to leave Elland Road. However, should Leeds not go up next season, the picture may change slightly.

The player will wonder if another 12 months of Championship football is best for him, while Leeds will know his valuation should stay the same or even go up given his age.
Either way, Gray looks likely to still be a Leeds player next season and will hopefully help fire the club to promotion. Achieve that and he is here for years to come.
