Leeds United fans will be thrilled with latest Georginio Rutter transfer development
Dan Bardell has urged Leeds United to keep hold of Georginio Rutter despite receiving a bid from the Premier League this summer.
LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross has suggested earlier this month (2 July) that the Whites had rejected a £30million bid from Brighton for the 22-year-old.
The journalist has also reported to LeedsLive (4 July) that the Frenchman has “no appetite” to depart Elland Road during the transfer window.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes that Leeds have to keep hold of Rutter, especially after losing Archie Gray to Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “You don’t want a summer full of doom and gloom.
“Leeds fans will have wanted some good news to follow after losing Archie Gray. Rutter staying is good news.
“He is definitely a good player and one with plenty of potential and a high ceiling. He did well last season after a difficult first-half season in the Premier League with Leeds.
“You can’t rule out that they won’t lose any more players but they will be pleased that it looks like Rutter will be staying.“
Leeds United to keep hold of Georginio Rutter
The Frenchman joined the Whites when they were in the Premier League but failed to have a positive impact as relegation was confirmed.
There wasn’t much hope that Rutter would be able to find form in the Championship but that was far from the case last season.
The 22-year-old took the second tier by storm and formed a devastating partnership with Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road.
This saw him score six and assist 15 goals in the league [FotMob] but Leeds weren’t able to secure promotion in the end.

With the Dutchman linked away and Gray already gone, the Whites’ fans will want to see Daniel Farke keep hold of his best players.
If Rutter stays beyond this summer, the chance of promotion to the Premier League next campaign will be automatically higher.
