Leeds United face ‘catastrophe’ as Max Wober transfer speculation emerges
Max Wober leaving Leeds United in January would be a “catastrophe” despite the defender not being first-choice, according to David Norris.
Wober has only recently returned from a knee injury which ensured he did not feature for Daniel Farke’s side between early August and late November.
The Austrian international is still behind Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk in the pecking order, and had been intermittently linked with an exit at the start of the season.
“They’ve got to keep him. There’s not enough cover – an injury or two and it’s a catastrophe at the back, so he needs to stay,” former Whites midfielder Norris exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“I can’t see him going in January, even if he wanted to. Leeds need to keep the cover they have.”
Max Wober expected to remain at Leeds United
While Wober is likely to stay at Elland Road as Farke looks to salvage the defensive cover he has at his disposal, any incomings could change their stance.
The 26-year-old was loaned out to Borussia Monchengladbach last season and has been one of a small clutch of returning loanees to remain at the club.

Wober is under contract at Leeds until 2027, with a temptation still possibly there for the club to raise easy funds.
