Leeds United ‘extremely harsh’ to push Stuart Dallas out of Elland Road after horrific injury
It would be “extremely harsh” for Leeds United to get rid of Stuart Dallas at the end of his contract this summer, according to Paul Robinson.
The Northern Irishman hasn’t played in almost two years since breaking his leg on 30 April 2022 against Manchester City, and has been tipped to leave with his deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
But Robinson wants to see the Whites extend it by another year to give the 32-year-old a chance to make it back from such an “horrific” injury, after all he has given the club.
The pundit isn’t certain what Dallas would be capable of going forward, but has called on Leeds United to afford him the opportunity to perform some role next term rather than push him “out the door” in the summer.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News he said: “Nobody’s owed anything by anyone, but I think what he’s done for the club, the performances he’s given, the relationship he’s got with the supporters, I would very, very much like to think that they’ll give him another 12 months.
“Whether it’s to get himself fully fit, whether it’s to be a part of the squad, whether it’s to be a part of the dressing room, whatever role that he has in that time I would like to think there’s a role there for him.
“And whether he puts his career back on track and plays again in a Leeds United shirt or does eventually move on.
“To push somebody out the door at the end of their contract this season, after such an horrific injury, it would be extremely harsh.”

Paul Robinson wants Stuart Dallas given Leeds United contract extension
It would be a very sad end to a popular Whites career if Dallas never played for the club again, and departed having drifted out of view amid an arduous long rehab.
He appeared live on Sky Sports at half time of the dramatic 3-1 Whites win over table toppers Leicester City on Friday (23 February), admitting it has been a “difficult road” but suggested he was in a “good position” now as he tries to make a comeback.
Financially it might be easier said than done for the 49ers to extend a player if he isn’t able to contribute, but if it is possible there will be plenty of fans who echo Robinson’s thoughts on the matter.
