Leeds United duo Connor Ferguson and Connor Douglas injury updates shared by Doctor
Leeds United under-21s duo Connor Ferguson and Connor Douglas face a re-injury risk, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that they need to be monitored carefully until the end of the season as they recently returned from long-term setbacks.
It seems unlikely that the two starlets will be back to a 100 per cent before the end of the season in May.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about the duo:
“You can never return without any re-injury risks but the team will be methodical and careful with how many minutes they’re playing and based on how they respond, gradually bump those minutes up.
“The stakes are relatively lower so the players may be urged not to push themselves until they are at a 100 per cent as the re-injury risks can be significant.
“It seems unlikely they will get to that stage with the season ending in a few weeks.“
Leeds United must handle the injury situation carefully
It makes sense to take it easy with Ferguson and Douglas due to their recent long-term injuries and the high re-injury risks associated with returning to play too quickly.
By gradually increasing their playing time based on how they respond to training and matches, the team can help minimise these risks and ensure the players’ long-term health and performance.
Hopefully, they make the most of the minutes they get this season and return strongly for pre-season training.
