Leeds United: Doctor shares surgery claim on Pascal Struijk injury
Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk may even require surgery for his adductor injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Dutchman’s setback is a frustrating one and the fact that his timeline has been extended suggests it’s more serious than first expected.
If things do not improve in the coming days, there is a possibility that an operation will be needed, ruling him out for weeks.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Struijk:
“Adductor injuries generally are frustrating ones and this sounds no different – based on the original timeline, it sounded like a Grade 1 injury but it sounds like he had problems when trying to increase intensity.
“If that persists and things take a negative turn, surgery might be possible depending on the specifics.
“A surgery will obviously delay his return to first-team football and he could then be ruled out for weeks.
“It’s all on how things transpire in the coming days.“
Struijk seems no closer to returning for Leeds United due to injury
Struijk is receiving a specific type of injection to deal with his current setback but does not appear any closer to returning.
The 24-year-old has now been out for almost two months and there is a possibility that he could be out for another month.
His last appearance for the Whites was on Boxing Day in the 2-1 defeat against Preston.

In his absence, Ethan Ampadu has stepped into central defence.
