Leeds United: Doctor shares Archie Gray injury claim amid development
Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray risked being ruled out for weeks with ligament damage, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to Daniel Farke’s comments and also the fact that he came off the bench to score a goal on his England under-21s debut on 22 March.
Farke said on 17 March that the 18-year-old had an ankle issue and that it looked okay on first viewing.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Gray:
“With ankle issues, you can typically have a good idea of severity after two or three days.
“If it’s a serious enough knock and the ankle twisted, can involve ligament damage and bone bruising.
“The sign that he played and even scored on international duty will tell you that he’s at or close to a 100 per cent.
“Thus, there’s no ligament damage which is good news as that would’ve kept him out for weeks.“
Leeds United ace Gray avoids injury scare
It would’ve been a major blow for Farke had Gray been ruled out for weeks as he’s become an integral first-team player.
From being on the fringes at the start of the season, the Englishman has excelled not just in midfield but also at right-back.
He has been tipped to go the distance and is one of the main reasons why Leeds are at the top of the Championship come the end of March.
In other Leeds United news, the club have now made moves in order to secure their first permanent transfer of the summer.
