Leeds United: Doctor issues Pascal Struijk injury update amid complications

Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk faces a fresh risk of re-injury post his rehabilitation, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The centre-back has been out of action for three months with an adductor injury and hasn’t played in the new year with surgery on the cards for over a month.

The injury expert claims that he looks no closer to returning from injury and even when he’s back in full training, the club will need to handle the situation carefully.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Struijk:

“It will take a significant amount of time to ramp him up when he is back in training, which does seem weeks away, at this point.

“That methodical ramp up and bounce minutes in matches will be the key to avoiding setbacks which will keep him out longer.

“However, given his long injury lay-off, setbacks are more likely so it will have to be handled carefully.”

Will Struijk return to action for Leeds United this season?

The situation over Struijk’s return this season hinges on whether or not there are any setbacks in his rehabilitation.

Being out for so long will mean that he’s tremendously lacking match sharpness and may have to play a good amount of under-21 games before he’s ready to return.
