Leeds United may have agreed seven-figure deal after new announcement

This story includes exclusive opinion from football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley.

Leeds United have been making wholesale changes ahead of the impending Premier League season.

The Peacocks have significantly strengthened their defence, with Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, and Gabriel Gudmundsson through the Elland Road doors.

Elsewhere, Daniel Farke now has Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach in his midfield engine room.

As well as the substantial personnel changes, there have also been changes off the field in Yorkshire, too, as the 49ers Enterprises continue to kick on.

Now, the Yorkshire club have announced that Parimatch will be the Peacocks’ official sleeve partner, a company with betting links.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley – speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News – has provided insight on the partnership.

“Possible for it to be low millions, but single digit,” he said.

“Front of shirt sponsors for some clubs in the Premier League would only be around £5-8million, so shirt sleeves likely lower.

“More likely it’s in the high hundred thousand range, but if they’ve got a really good deal, it might be close to £1million ballpark.”

Leeds sleeve partnership can continue despite Premier League ban

The 2025/26 Premier League campaign will be the last that clubs can wear a front-of-shirt betting sponsor.

However, there is to be no ban on shirt sleeves, training kits, stadium perimeter boards, or digital advertising.

As for the EFL, clubs in those divisions are permitted to continue wearing betting sponsors on their matchday shirts.

This means that Leeds will be allowed to wear Parimatch on their sleeves beyond the 2025/26 season.

Financially, this could be viewed as a smart move by the Peacocks as they look to make money through other avenues.

On the other hand, many supporters have voiced their discontent at their clubs branding betting sponsors entirely.

With just weeks to go until the Premier League campaign, Leeds may well make more significant announcements.
