Leeds United ‘complacency’ concern raised amid fresh promotion verdict
Leeds United have suffered a drop in form as of late in their race to achieve a Premier League return.
Leeds’ recent 2-2 draw with QPR provided plenty of concern in isolation, but also in the bigger picture, with the Whites now having won just one of their last four league encounters.
Daniel Farke’s side remain in the driving seat to achieve promotion, though results and performances are going to have to improve after the international break if that is to be the case.
After a win against Sheffield United, many thought that promotion was all but sealed, but heading into the final eight games, the race for a top-two finish is far from over.

Farke must deliver promotion this season
The pressure is on Farke to ensure that Leeds don’t replicate the failures of the last campaign, though recent form has certainly sparked concerns that it could be the case.
As to the reason behind that slight fall-off, only those behind the scenes will know, but Paul Robinson – when speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News – thinks it could be down to two factors.
He said: “I thought that was it done as well. I fell into that trap. I thought that was a massive win, a statement win. And I think the feeling at Bramall Lane that night was that was it, Leeds are going up, who’s coming up with them.
Championmship 24/25 | W | D | L | P |
Leeds | 23 | 11 | 4 | 80 |
Sheffield United | 25 | 7 | 6 | 80 |
Burnley | 21 | 15 | 2 | 78 |
“2-0 down at QPR, they showed a lot of heart, a lot of fight to get back into that game to get back to 2-2. The win against Millwall, it’s a game you’d expect them to win. Defeat against Portsmouth, I suspect was the poorest of performances, although I don’t think they deserved to come away with a defeat, in all honesty. I think they had the opportunity to get at least a draw or a win and how the referee missed the penalty, I still don’t know.
“Too many draws for me. You look at the draws this season, you look at the top of the league and you look where the three teams are, Leeds have got too many draws if they want to go up automatically. I still think they will.
“You just hope that Leeds can pick up the momentum after the international break. The next two games for Leeds are absolutely massive. They’ve got to get six points for the next two games.”

Leeds must find form again
Leeds’ destiny is still entirely in their own hands, though that has been the case for many seasons in the past in which they have fallen at the last hurdle.
However, that simply cannot happen again this season, and Leeds need to find a way to return to the form that brought them plenty of success up until now.
Eight huge games remain for the Whites, and they have to enter every single one as if it were a cup final if they are to retain their place in the top two.
