Leeds United can use loophole to seal Dje D’avilla transfer – Exclusive

Leeds United could look to use a loophole in order to secure the services of UD Leiria midfielder Dje D’avilla, MOT Leeds News has learned.

Sport TV journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto reported that the Whites have tabled a £3.3million bid for the 21-year-old.

MOT Leeds News sources in Portugal reveal that the amount is enough for Leiria to part ways with him, but he requires 15 points for the Whites to be able to register him.

Leeds United could look to loan Dje D’avilla out to meet the criteria

It’s understood that the Whites could loan him out to a first division side in Portugal and that would ensure he meets the criteria.

Once that process is done, Leeds can register him and Daniel Farke will be eligible to field him in games, but that can only happen in the summer, sources tell MOT Leeds News.

The Whites are active in January as they will be looking to make signings to get them to finish in the top two and secure promotion.

Last season, they narrowly missed out, having lost the play-off final, and would want to avoid the ordeal of the play-offs.

As things stand, a January move for Dje D’avilla remains highly unlikely due to the complexities surrounding the deal.

Currently, Farke’s side sit atop the Championship table with 53 points after 26 games this season.
