Leeds United backed to seal January Manor Solomon transfer as loan recall on cards

Leeds United have been backed to finally seal the signing of Manor Solomon by former Tottenham scout Bryan King.

The Israeli international was a crucial part of Daniel Farke’s promotion-winning team in the Championship last term, and his career has stalled in recent months following the end of his loan spell.

Leeds chased Solomon’s signature for large parts of the summer transfer window, only for Spurs to ultimately opt to loan him out to Villarreal.

Things haven’t gone to plan for the winger during his time in La Liga so far, and that will have everyone at Elland Road on red alert ahead of the winter window.

Manor Solomon to be sold by Tottenham in January

Solomon quickly became a huge fan favourite at Leeds, but he has been completely starved of football so far this term.

The 26-year-old has started just once for Villarreal in league action, despite having a goal and an assist to his name from his four appearances.

The situation now appears to have come to a head, with Solomon understood to have asked Tottenham to recall him in January, according to El Periodico Mediterraneo.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News – believes that a recall would result in the wideman being sold permanently, and he has backed Leeds to be his next destination.

“If he isn’t going to stay at Villarreal, then I could certainly see him being sold in January,” King said.

“He definitely won’t get a game for Tottenham, there’s three or four people in front of him in his position.

“He did well at Leeds; he was a key part of their team that got promoted. I would have thought he’d be a very good option for Leeds. They haven’t exactly set the Premier League alight, and it looks as though they need more options.”

Leeds need to speak to Manor Solomon’s camp as soon as possible

Leeds looked a likely destination for Solomon in the summer, but as deadline day drew closer, more and more potential suitors emerged for him.

Crystal Palace were linked with a last-minute loan move, and interest from elsewhere in the Premier League has already arisen ahead of January.

As per El Periodico Mediterraneo’s report, West Ham have already lodged an enquiry to Spurs about the winger’s availability, should they choose to recall him.

With that in mind, if Leeds are to have any hope of securing a sensational reunion, then they simply must contact Solomon’s camp and seek assurances that he would be open to a return.

They will have to act quickly if they want to bring him in, and Farke may seriously value the addition of a player who knows what it takes to succeed in LS11.
