Leeds United add to revenue line after recent Elland Road development
Leeds United Women have boosted the overall revenue line after their recent appearance at Elland Road, Dan Plumley has said.
The Whites beat York City 3-0 at Elland Road on 17 November, with 4,801 fans in attendance.
Plumley, a football finance expert, insists that the added revenue will go towards enhancing the women’s set up at Thorp Arch as well as becoming a good investment for Leeds.
“It depends on how the club is structured,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“There’s nothing to suggest that the Women’s set-up isn’t embedded within the structure, so you would assume that the ticket revenue from the Women’s team would go directly towards the enhancement of that team.
“If they are housed under one structure, which could be the case at Leeds United, you just add that to the overall revenue line and just extract out whatever you need to for the women’s side of things.

“We know as well as a subtext to that, investment in women’s football is regarded as a good investment for a club to make so you can offset some of that investment.
“It’s good exposure for that side of the organisational structure and decent crowds you’re attracting shows that growth potential that we know is there within the sport.”

Darcie Greene, who scored in the win, admitted it was surreal to play at Elland Road, with that experience hopefully being offered more.
Paraag Marathe and the 49ers Enterprises will be looking at this success and hoping to recreate it more often to keep that winning feeling around the club at every level.
