Leeds to sign new attacker before landing Kobbie Mainoo deal in January – Exclusive
Leeds are still keen on signing Kobbie Mainoo under one condition, MOT Leeds News understands.
Leeds signed 10 new players in the summer window, though a lot of their targets slipped through the net either as a result of a lack of PSR room or developments on the selling side of the deal.
Mainoo was linked with a move to Leeds. However, Man United were unwilling to sanction an exit for the English midfielder.
That interest has resurfaced ahead of the January transfer window, with the Whites still keen on a deal.

Kobbie Mainoo is not a priority for Leeds
Leeds have struggled massively in an attacking sense this season, and as a result, that is the area of the pitch they will be looking to reinforce first.
Franculino Dju has been linked with a move to Elland Road, as has Harry Wilson, as Daniel Farke looks to find the remedy to their concerns.
Only then will Leeds pursue a deal for Mainoo, sources have told MOT Leeds News.
The 20-year-old has been limited to just 138 minutes of Premier League action this season, with eight appearances across all competitions.
It’s clear that he isn’t in Ruben Amorim’s plans going forward, with all signs pointing towards a January exit for Mainoo, with Leeds set to keep an eye on future developments at Old Trafford.
Ethan Ampadu would be replaced by Kobbie Mainoo
Ethan Ampadu has struggled since returning to the Premier League, despite being a regular in Farke’s starting 11.
Last year, he featured regularly as a centre back, but has been utilised in his standard midfield role this season.
Mainoo’s arrival would almost certainly displace him from the team, with Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff impressing for Leeds.
Relegation is a real possibility for Leeds this season, and if they fail to make the right decisions in the winter window, that possibility will almost certainly turn into reality.
As things stand, prioritising a move for Mainoo would be the wrong decision, though if the Whites can address their other concerns, it would be a good signing.
