Leeds to ‘cash in on Aaronson’ after latest Uche developments – Exclusive

Brenden Aaronson faces an uncertain summer at Leeds United.

The American attacking midfielder notched nine goals and two assists in the Championship promotion-winning campaign last season.

However, he was plagued by inconsistency and his numbers in the Premier League last time, one goal and three assists were not good enough.

Therefore, Daniel Farke could be in the market for a new number 10, if he feels like the 53-cap international cannot cut it.

Aaronson finished at Leeds after Uche developments

Leeds have been mentioned as a possible destination for Christantus Uche.

A report from AS (page 10, 15 July) claims that he has been granted permission to miss Getafe’s training camp in Valencia to sort a move to the English top-flight.

The Whites could sell Aaronson this summer, if they can find an upgrade, according to iconic commentator Ian Darke.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “I would say so because I think when Leeds went into the Premier League before, he did not come off, he looked a bit lightweight and peripheral, I would say.

“In a harsh world, I think they would be looking for an upgrade, so it would not be a surprise if they cashed in on Aaronson and looked for somebody else to fill that role.”

Uche would be an upgrade on Aaronson

The Nigerian notched four goals and six assists in La Liga last season, which proves that he can contribute in a top division.

That is something which Aaronson has not been able to do, so it makes sense if the LS11 outfit are in the market for Uche.

The 22-year-old could prosper under Farke, and there is plenty of room for him to improve on a decent amount of contributions from his latest campaign.

The Peacocks have been linked with the likes of Emiliano Buendia and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Uche would represent a better option, in terms of both value for money and future potential.

It remains to be seen whether a deal can be struck; however, Aaronson will be fearing for his future as Farke chases a new 10.
