Leeds can seal headline transfer before deadline as ‘craziest’ window begins

Leeds United have already completed a wealth of business this summer, but more signings could be on the horizon.

Noah Okafor is the latest addition at Elland Road, having signed from AC Milan for £18million.

However, it has not all been plain sailing as Sunderland beat Leeds to several players earlier in the window.

With the deadline looming large, could the Peacocks seal a headline transfer before it shuts?

Leeds can sign a couple more players before transfer deadline

Daniel Farke’s side secured a statement win over Everton on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Like Sunderland, the Peacocks caught the eye, with many believing they have what it takes to survive in the top flight.

Now, football finance expert Dan Plumley has weighed in on whether the Yorkshire club could make more signings before 1 September, having yet to hit £100m.

“I think it’s still possible, yes, and this is the craziest part of the window, isn’t it, where, never say never about anything“, he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“You’re right in the fact that Sunderland’s behaviour probably changes the expectations of Leeds and Burnley fans as a direct example, but also some clubs that were near the bottom end of the table last season.

“So it’s how other clubs behave in the mix, but yes, I certainly think it’s feasible that you could see a couple more incoming at Leeds, and of course, they’ve got off to a good start as well, which always helps, so you know you can work off of that a little bit.

“As I say, this is the point in the window where you don’t rule anything out.”

Who could arrive at Elland Road before the transfer window closes?

With time ticking, the Peacocks must act quickly if they are to bring in more players before the deadline, but who are they considering?

Leeds could follow up Okafor with James Justin as Farke looks to add another full-back to his Premier League squad.

With Isaac Schmidt seemingly heading out the Elland Road doors, it would be wise for the Yorkshire club to find a replacement.

Indeed, the Whites want to find a replacement before Schmidt can leave, with Bournemouth’s James Hill admired by Farke.

After a positive start to the Premier League, the Elland Road club must now end the window in the same fashion.
