Klich silences critics with ‘outstanding’ display after Leeds United exit speculation – Sky pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Mateusz Klich has proven his critics to be wrong at Leeds United this season, according to Paul Robinson.

Klich, 31, was one of Leeds’ stronger performers on Sunday as Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost 4-2 to Manchester United at Elland Road.

The Poland international was in and out of Bielsa’s starting line-up in the first half of the season but has now started the last eight consecutive Premier League matches.

During that run, Robinson has been impressed and feels as though Klich has proven people to be wrong after he was linked with a move away from Leeds in the January transfer window.

“Klich’s impressed me all season,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

We were talking about his future in January but he’s become a regular in there since Kalvin Phillips has been injured because he can play as a defensive midfielder or higher up.

He’s proven a lot of people wrong with his engine, with his stamina and his ability to play full games.

He played well again [versus Manchester United]. I thought he was outstanding.

On 1 January, Mirror journalist David Anderson reported that Klich has “really struggled this season” and “is on his way out of Elland Road”.

However, Klich stayed put with Bielsa’s midfield options light due to recent injuries to Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw, Jamie Shackleton and now Robin Koch.

In other Leeds United news, a double-page spread in a newspaper says that it’s the beginning of the end for this Elland Road man.
