Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper could miss another five weeks for Leeds United – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Leeds United might have to make do without Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper for another five weeks, according to Paul Robinson.
Marcelo Bielsa confirmed on Monday [7 February] that both Phillips, 26, and Cooper, 30, should have recovered from their respective hamstring issues by the start of March [Yorkshire Post].
However, Robinson feels that it could be the middle of March by the time the two key players return while he’s also worried about the lack of a timescale upon Patrick Bamford’s return to fitness.

“It’s a long time, you’re looking at another four or five weeks without them,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“They’re going to be two big misses in what is going to be a very important month for Leeds.
“We don’t know the financial situation of the club and whether they were able to bring anybody in but when you hear that Patrick Bamford is going to be out for an indefinite amount of time, Phillips and Cooper are going to be out until March, you’re almost given six matches of the season without three of your best players.”
If it’s another five weeks before Phillips and Cooper are available again, which will be 15 March, it will mean they’ll miss games against Aston Villa, Everton, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Leicester and Norwich.
Phillips and Cooper have both already missed six Premier League matches since their injury issues started and also missed the FA Cup defeat to West Ham.
