Jurgen Klopp will potentially be able to create a transfer connection for Leeds United via his new role for Red Bull, Ian Darke has said.

Klopp officially starts his job as Head of Global Soccer with the conglomerate on 1 January, in which he will be anticipated to lend networking and guidance support to its clubs.

Red Bull are minority shareholders and the primary partners of Leeds following the deal struck last summer, and initial concern emanated from those who believed Klopp could impede the plans of Daniel Farke.

But commentator Darke is confident it will be a benefit to the club in the long run.

"I think Klopp is sensible enough to feel his way through the relationship he'll have with Farke and Leeds United. If he thought in any way he was cramping his style or impeding him, he would feel that's not what his role is," TNT Sports commentator Darke exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

"Leeds are just one of the clubs part of the Red Bull empire and you wonder the extent of what say Klopp would have in anything like selection or recruitment, or the general approach.

"He's been a manager for long enough to know he shouldn't tread on any toes, and rather give a general hand of guidance. The Red Bull link-up will likely help Leeds in the transfer market, and Klopp could provide a connection."

On paper, Leeds United fans are excited by the initiative which will see decorated manager Klopp hand out strategic advice to Red Bull's member clubs.

Klopp and Farke, although German compatriots, have not yet enjoyed a close working relationship or crossed extensive paths in their respective careers.

Leeds are expected to be one of the Championship's most active clubs in the January transfer market, with Klopp's network a potential help.
