Josuha Guilavogui hailed after pundit hears about Leeds United ace since transfer
Leeds United have pulled off a “shrewd” free agent move in bringing Josuha Guilavogui to Elland Road, according to David Norris.
The former Whites midfielder is encouraged by the acquisition of the 34-year-old, who had been without a club since leaving Bundesliga side Mainz in the summer.
Guilavogui was an unused substitute against Bristol City on 26 October, but made his debut on Saturday [2 November] in the win over Plymouth Argyle.
“Guilavogui is a shrewd signing. I don’t know a great deal about him, but from what I’ve seen and heard, he’s absolutely what they need,” Norris exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“He brings experience and versatility, and I think if he does stay at Leeds longer than expected he will fit in well – the German league is of a similar calibre to where the club are aiming to reach.
“It’s encouraging that he’s come in and been ready to go, having been named in the squad straight after signing rather than having to take weeks to get him up to speed.”
Josuha Guilavogui enjoys acclaim from Leeds United fans
Guilavogui enjoyed the warmest of welcomes to Elland Road on Saturday, as he entered the fray for the final 16 minutes with his side having already seen Wayne Rooney’s side well beaten.
He came on in somewhat of a leadership role alongside fellow debutant Sam Chambers, half his age at just 17, with Charlie Crew making his own senior Leeds bow with a late cameo 10 minutes later.

The Frenchman congratulated the duo before acknowledging his own debut after the game, garnering significant praise.
In other Leeds news, Wayne Rooney is accused of “embarrassing himself” at Elland Road.
